CFMF in Queensland

Our home state — where it all began, and where our community runs deepest.

Our Home Ground

Queensland is where the Centre for Men and Families was born, and it remains the heart of everything we do. From our earliest circle groups in Brisbane to our growing presence across South East Queensland, this is where our community runs deepest.

We have active men’s circle groups in Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Ipswich — places where blokes come together each week to share honestly, listen without judgement, and build the kind of trust that changes lives. Whether you’re going through a rough patch or simply looking for deeper connection with other men, our groups offer a space that’s hard to find anywhere else.

Our counsellors are based here too, offering face-to-face sessions across the region as well as telehealth for those who prefer it or live further afield. We understand that every man’s situation is different, and we work with you to find the right support — no pressure, no rush.

Events That Transform

Queensland is the launchpad for our signature events. The Men’s Rite of Passage (MROP) has been running since 2000 — a powerful five-day wilderness experience that has helped hundreds of men step into a more grounded, purposeful way of living. It’s not about surviving the bush. It’s about discovering what’s been waiting inside you.

Forged, our young men’s program, launched in 2019 and offers the same depth of initiation for younger men navigating the transition to adulthood. Both programs are held at locations across Queensland and regularly draw participants from interstate — because this kind of experience is worth travelling for.

The Gathering is our annual large-scale event, bringing together men from across Australia for a day of connection, conversation, and shared purpose. It’s a brilliant entry point if you’re curious but not ready to commit to a five-day program.

More Than a Service — A Community

What makes CFMF in Queensland unique isn’t just the breadth of what we offer — it’s the depth of community behind it. Many of the men who facilitate our groups and volunteer at events started out as participants themselves. They showed up, did the work, and found something worth giving back to.

We also deliver corporate workshops for Queensland-based organisations looking to support the wellbeing of their male employees and leadership teams. These are practical, grounded sessions — not tick-the-box wellness talks.

If you’re in Queensland, you’re in the best position to experience everything CFMF has to offer. But even if you’re in a regional area, we’ll find a way to connect you. That’s what we do.
