CFMF in Tasmania

We have people in every state — reach out and connect, and we'll find the way we can help.

Real Connection, Wherever You Are

Tasmania has a well-earned reputation for community — tight-knit towns, people who know their neighbours, a slower pace of life. But for plenty of Tasmanian men, genuine connection with other blokes about the things that actually matter remains hard to come by. That gap between “having mates” and “having men you can be honest with” is real, and it’s something CFMF exists to bridge.

We don’t yet have face-to-face services in Tasmania, but our online circle groups are open to men across the country. These groups run via video call on a regular schedule, with a facilitated format that creates space for honest sharing and deep listening. Men who join are often surprised by how quickly genuine trust builds — even through a screen. The format works because the commitment is real: men show up, week after week, and something shifts.

Telehealth counselling is also available to men anywhere in Tasmania. Our counsellors are experienced, practical, and direct. They work with men on the things that often go unspoken — relationship strain, grief, anger, loneliness, work pressure, or a persistent feeling that something needs to change but you can’t quite name it. No jargon, no judgement. Just honest support at your pace.

Events That Change Everything

Our signature events are held in Queensland, and the travel is genuinely part of the experience. Stepping out of your daily routine and into something immersive is how transformation happens — and Tasmanian men have been making that journey for years.

The Men’s Rite of Passage (MROP) is a five-day wilderness experience that has been running since 2000. It’s not a survival course or a motivational retreat — it’s a deep, structured initiation into a more grounded way of living. Over 57% of participants travel interstate to attend, and many describe it as the single most significant experience of their adult lives.

Forged offers the same depth for young men navigating the transition to adulthood — something that’s needed everywhere, Tasmania included. And The Gathering is a one-day event that brings men together from across Australia for connection and conversation. If you’re curious about CFMF, it’s a great place to start.

Grow Something Here

Every circle group, in every state, started with one or two men who decided their community needed this. Tasmania is no different. If you’re in Hobart, Launceston, or anywhere on the island, and you care about men’s wellbeing, we’d love to hear from you.

Starting a local group doesn’t require professional qualifications — it requires willingness. We provide facilitation training, ongoing support, and connection to a national community of men who are doing this work in their own areas. You won’t be on your own.

Volunteering is another way to get involved. Whether it’s helping at events, connecting us with local networks, or simply being the person other Tassie men can reach out to, every contribution helps build something that matters.

Have a look at our online groups, explore counselling, or reach out. We’re across the water, but we’re not far away.
