CFMF in the ACT
Online support, telehealth counselling, and close proximity to our NSW community for Canberra men.
Support for Canberra Men
Canberra can be a paradox for men’s wellbeing. It’s a well-resourced city with high living standards, but it can also feel transient and professionally pressured — a place where connection beyond work networks doesn’t always come easily. If that resonates, you’re not alone, and CFMF is here for you.
While we don’t yet have face-to-face services in the ACT, our online offerings are fully accessible to Canberra men. Our online circle groups run via video call on a regular schedule, bringing together men from across Australia for honest, facilitated conversation. It’s not group therapy. It’s a circle of men who’ve decided that going it alone isn’t working, and who are willing to show up for something better.
Telehealth counselling is also available. Our counsellors are experienced in working with men on the things that often sit below the surface — relationship struggles, work burnout, anger, grief, identity questions, or a quiet sense of disconnection that’s hard to put into words. Sessions are practical and direct, built for men who want real support without the runaround.
Close to Our NSW Community
One of the advantages of being in the ACT is proximity to our New South Wales community. Our Sydney circle group is within reach for men who want occasional in-person connection alongside their online participation. Many men find that blending both formats works well — the regularity of online groups with the added depth of face-to-face gatherings when they can make it.
Our signature events are another powerful way to connect. The Men’s Rite of Passage (MROP) is a five-day wilderness experience held in Queensland, and ACT men have been attending for years. Over 57% of MROP participants travel interstate — it’s the kind of experience that makes the trip feel like part of the journey, not an obstacle.
Forged offers the same transformative depth for younger men, and The Gathering is a one-day event that’s an ideal entry point if you’re curious about what CFMF is all about.
Building Something in the ACT
We have people in every state and territory, and we’re always looking to strengthen our presence where men need us. The ACT is a place where a CFMF circle group could genuinely thrive — there’s a clear need for the kind of honest, grounded men’s community we build.
If you’re in Canberra and interested in helping to start a local group, volunteering at events, or simply connecting with other ACT men in the CFMF community, we’d love to hear from you. We provide facilitation training and ongoing support to men who want to bring this work to their area. You don’t need to be a counsellor or a facilitator already — just someone who cares about men showing up better for themselves and the people around them.
Explore our online groups, learn about counselling, or reach out to start the conversation. We’re here, and we’d love to connect.
